    Propane is non-toxic and colorless, making it a versatile fuel that can be used for a variety of indoor and outdoor applications. As a safety precaution, an identifiable smell is added to propane so it can be readily detected in case of leaks.* This helps keep your family safe.

  • Cost-effective

    • Propane is a byproduct of natural gas processing and sometimes crude oil refining, so the price of propane falls between those two commodities.*
    • ENERGY STAR-qualified propane-fueled furnaces are up to 15% more efficient than standard propane models and can save you up to $85 in energy costs each year.*
    • In homes that have moderate hot water use, tankless water heaters can be up to 34% more energy efficient than conventional storage water heaters.*

  • Environmentally friendly

    • When compared with electricity, propane lessens your environmental impact with cleaner operation. It even reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 43%.*
    • Propane is an approved clean fuel listed in the 1990 Clean Air Act. Using propane at your home is an economical and viable step toward cleaner air.*

  • Versatile

    In addition to keeping your home warm and cozy during the winter, you can also use propane all year long for cooking (gas stoves and grills), powering your appliances (fridges and freezers, washing machines and dryers), heating your water and much more.

  • Incentives

    • Often, there are federal and/or state incentives. 
    • Through 2032, under the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, you can receive federal income tax credits for efficiency home improvement projects.
